Dr. Nawaf Ali is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Ali is committed to advancing innovation and academic excellence in technology education. His research interests include machine learning (ML), authorship identification, natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Nazih Jamaleddin

Nazih Jamaleddin is a senior laboratory instructor in the Computer Engineering department, at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in physics and microelectronics engineering, and a master’s degree in materials science and nanotechnologies. With over six years of combined teaching experience in Lebanon and Canada, including roles as instructor, teaching assistant, and lab instructor, he plays a key role in curriculum development, course material modernization, and laboratory instruction at AUM.

Nermain Al-Issa

Dr. Nermain Al-Issa is an assistant professor of marketing at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She is a dedicated academic and marketing professional with over 10 years of teaching experience and more than a decade in industry. She holds a PhD in Marketing Management from the University of Antwerp.

Dr. Al Issa’s expertise spans branding, sustainability, and AI-driven marketing, with research published in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals. She serves as a PhD committee member and research associate at Antwerp, reflecting international recognition of her scholarly contributions.

At AUM, she has served on the Assurance of Learning and Curriculum Committees and contributed to the Exam Unit. As Chair of Academic Projects and Activities, she led the integration of AI in business courses—recognized at the AI Innovation Fair 2025. She also conceived and led the Marketing Exhibition Room and Simulation Hub, innovative experiential learning spaces using AI and gamification. Additionally, she has mentored students for global competitions and fostered industry partnerships with companies such as IKEA and KDD.

Nicolas Lopez

Dr. Nicolas Lopez is an assistant professor in the Industrial Engineering Department, at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, with a multidisciplinary background in energy systems and decision sciences. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, a master's in manufacturing engineering, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science with a focus on Energy Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Lopez has taught at several institutions, including Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) in Mexico, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and El Paso Community College (EPCC) in the United States. His research has focused on hybrid microgrid configurations and the integration of renewable energy sources. He is also actively involved in the development of stochastic optimization models and neural network applications for decision-making. More recently, his academic interests have extended to the field of cognitive ergonomics, exploring human information processing in control systems.

Nima Gharib

Dr. Nima Gharib is an accomplished mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. from McGill University, Canada, and over 15 years of academic and research experience. He currently serves as an associate professor at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, where he teaches courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and aerospace systems. Dr. Gharib’s research focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), discrete element modelling (DEM), energy systems, and space engineering applications such as lunar dust mitigation and microwave-assisted rock breakage.

Dr. Gharib has held research roles at McGill University and the University of Alberta, managing multi-million-dollar industry and space agency projects. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and a book on electrostatic dust mitigation. He is passionate about interdisciplinary research and mentoring future engineers.

Nino Samashvili

Dr. Nino Samashvili is an assistant professor of mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tbilisi State University, Georgia. Her research interests include functional analysis, approximation problems, as well as modeling and prediction in navigation systems.

Niveen Al-Sayyed

Dr. Niveen Al-Sayyed is an assistant professor in the Human Resource Management Department at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait. She holds a PhD in Management Studies with a focus on organizational change from the University of Aberdeen Business School, as well as a Master of Business Administration and a B.A. in Business Administration from the Hashemite University.

With over 14 years of academic experience, she has served as an assistant professor at Arab Open University – Jordan Branch and as a Faculty Member at the University of Jordan. Her research interests include organizational change, project management, strategic human resource development, boundary spanning, women in leadership, organizational behavior, and service quality.

Dr. Al-Sayyed teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in business management and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is actively involved in the academic community, being a member of the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP), a certified quality assurance auditor for higher education institutions, an Innovation Associate—the Global Innovation Management Institute, and a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, she served as a guest editor for Administrative Sciences (MDPI publisher) and has participated on various committees at the university level.

Noha Saad

Dr. Noha Saad is an associate professor in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, where she has served since January 2021. She earned her Bachelor's degree with honors from Alexandria University in 2007, followed by a Master’s in 2011 and a Ph.D. in 2017 from the same institution.

Prior to joining AUM, she spent over a decade at Alexandria University, progressing through roles from demonstrator to assistant professor. Her academic and research contributions focus on architectural design, sustainable development, and project management.

Alongside her academic career, Dr. Noha has extensive professional experience as an architect and consultant in Egypt and Kuwait. She holds a Professional Engineer license (2018) and a Construction Consultant certification (2020) from the Kuwait Society of Engineers, and is an active member of both the Egyptian and Kuwaiti engineering societies. Her work bridges academic research with real-world application in both educational and professional contexts.

Noor-Adien Al-Shrah

Noor-Adien Al-Shrah is a laboratory instructor in electrical engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait.

He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in artificial intelligence and machine learning from McMaster University, Canada, and a master’s in electrical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary.

His interdisciplinary expertise spans artificial intelligence, electrical systems, and machine learning. He has led impactful research projects, including deep learning applications for lung cancer prediction and real-time steel microstructure identification, enhancing both efficiency and accuracy.

At AUM, he serves as Head of the Lab Committee and actively mentors senior students on their graduation projects. His recent work focuses on advancements in wireless communication technology, and he has organized and delivered multiple AI-focused workshops.

Nouf Al-Hashash

Nouf Al-Hashash is a laboratory instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She holds a master’s degree in renewable energy and clean technology from the University of Manchester, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Liverpool. Her academic interests focus on renewable energy—particularly solar energy—and sustainability in building infrastructure. Nouf is passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to excel both academically and professionally.
