Dr. Mouhammad Al-Akkoumi is an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He earned his B.Sc. in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Technology, Lebanon, and his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Systems, followed by a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, USA. Prior to joining AUM in 2017, he gained five years of industry experience as a Senior Network Engineer in Washington, D.C., USA. He also served as Chair of the Computer Engineering Department for five years. His research interests include smart cities, sensor networks, optical communication, image processing, intelligent transportation systems, multi-agent systems, and transportation risk analysis.

Moustafa Houda

Dr. Moustafa Houda is an associate professor of civil engineering and serves as head of the Civil and Architectural Engineering department at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from University Grenoble Alpes, France, specializing in geomechanics and soil improvement. His research interests include soil improvement techniques, environmentally friendly concrete technologies, and the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in infrastructure projects. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at international conferences, contributing to innovation in civil engineering education.

Moustafa Ibrahim

Dr. Moustafa Ibrahim is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He earned a Master’s in Applied Mathematics from Blaise Pascal University and a Ph.D. from Centrale Nantes. His primary research interests include mathematical modeling and computational analysis of partial differential equations. He has contributed to various collaborative research projects and is currently expanding his work into data science and artificial intelligence. Dr. Ibrahim is also actively engaged in teaching and student mentorship.

Muammer Catak

Dr. Muammer Catak is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, an M.Sc. in Telecommunications and Signal Processing from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a Ph.D. in Stochastic Modelling and Simulation from the Department of Process Engineering, University College Cork, Ireland. He earned his Associate Professorship in Signal Processing/Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Turkey in 2017.

Dr. Catak’s research focuses on stochastic signal processing, random processes, and Markov chains. His academic journey integrates a strong international background across research and teaching, spanning Turkey, Sweden, Ireland, and Kuwait.

Mubarak Alshatti

Mubarak Alshatti is a laboratory instructor in the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering & Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Kansas (USA).

His academic interests include engineering materials, geotechnical engineering, structural systems, and traffic engineering. He previously worked as a traffic engineer at TranSystems in the U.S., contributing to infrastructure projects. His thesis focused on in-vehicle safety features and their effects on fatal crashes.

He holds OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Safety certifications and a Lean Six Sigma White Belt. At AUM, he teaches several courses across multiple sections, applying hands-on, student-centered methods.

Muhammad Munir

Dr. Muhammad Munir is an associate professor of chemical engineering at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a PhD in Chemical and Materials Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. With over 15 years of research and 10 years of teaching and academic leadership experience, his work focuses on sustainable waste-to-value processing, process systems engineering, and AI applications in engineering. Dr. Munir has authored more than 125 Scopus-indexed journal articles, secured over 500,000 NZD in research funding, and has been twice listed among Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists (2023, 2024). He actively collaborates with international academia and industry, and his pedagogical research emphasizes scholarly approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment. His contributions aim to foster innovation in both engineering practice and education.

Muhammad Nadeem

Dr. Muhammad Nadeem is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, his M.Sc. from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and his B.Sc. from the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan.

With over 20 years of academic and research experience, Dr. Nadeem has held positions at institutions including the University of Auckland, COMSATS University, and AUM. His research focuses on AI-driven applications across smart systems, signal processing, and robotics. In addition to his scholarly contributions, he actively mentors undergraduate and graduate students, promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrates innovative pedagogical approaches into engineering education.

Muhammed Codur

Dr. Muhammed Codur is a civil engineer specializing in transportation engineering, with a particular focus on traffic safety, driver behavior, and intelligent transportation systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Ataturk University, Turkey, where he also completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees. Dr. Codur has conducted research in areas such as traffic flow theory, multilevel modeling, and sustainable transportation planning. He has published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer and associate editor for various academic platforms. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in transportation engineering and highway design and has supervised several student research projects. Dr. Codur is currently working at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait, where he is actively engaged in teaching, research on urban traffic safety and mobility behavior, and curriculum development in highway and transportation engineering.

Mujtaba Momin

Dr. Mujtaba Momin is an associate professor of management at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a PhD in Management and specializes in human resource management, business ethics, corporate governance, and sustainability. He has over 18 years of academic and corporate training experience across India, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Before joining AUM, he taught at a public university in Saudi Arabia and contributed to executive education and consultancy projects.

Dr. Momin has published in Scopus-indexed and ABDC-listed journals on workplace well-being, organizational behavior, ESG performance, and technological innovation. He is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM) and the American Psychological Association (APA), and is a Certified Career Development Facilitator (NCDA, USA). He actively contributes to editorial boards, peer review, and international research collaborations.

Murat Alp

Dr. Murat Alp is a professor of mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He received his B.Sc. from Ankara University, M.Sc. from Erciyes University, and Ph.D. from the University of Wales, Bangor. He began his academic career as assistant professor and head of department at Dumlupınar University and later became full professor and dean of the Faculty of Science at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. He also served as vice rector.
