Karthika Sreekumar is a laboratory instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait.

She holds a master’s degree in applied electronics from Anna University, Chennai, and a Bachelor’s degree in applied electronics and instrumentation engineering from the University of Kerala, India. With over 10 years of experience in academic laboratories, she brings strong technical skills in circuit design, simulation, and experimental methods in electrical and electronics engineering.

Karthika is passionate about fostering hands-on learning and guiding students in the practical application of theoretical concepts. She is actively involved in developing lab materials, supporting research and course projects, contributing to curriculum enhancements, and ensuring lab safety and engagement. Her mentoring approach emphasizes patience, clarity, and student success.

Kaushik Nag

Dr. Kaushik Nag is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He initially joined AUM in 2012, as an assistant professor in the Industrial Engineering Department and later contributed to the establishment of the newly formed Mechanical Engineering Department, where he also served as Chair until 2016.

Prior to joining AUM, Dr. Kaushik was a faculty member at the University of Central Lancashire, UK, and gained extensive industry experience as a project engineer at METCO Ltd., India, managing large-scale projects. His research interests include Material Processing, Manufacturing and Quality Management.

At AUM he played an active role in several initiatives including coordinating the ABET accreditation for the department and leading its successful reaccreditation process.

Khaled Chahine

Dr. Khaled Chahine is a professor of electrical engineering at the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait. He received his diploma in electrical and electronics engineering from the Lebanese University, followed by an M.S. in Electronic Systems and Electrical Engineering from Polytech’Nantes (France) the same year. He earned his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Nantes in 2010.

Dr. Chahine has held academic positions at the Lebanese International University and Beirut Arab University. Since joining AUM in 2021, he has continued to advance his research in areas such as renewable energy, power quality, machine learning, statistical signal processing, and non-intrusive appliance load monitoring (NIALM).

He has authored and co-authored over 70 research papers in leading journals and international conferences, secured competitive research grants, and supervised both Ph.D. and Master's students. His work reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence, applied innovation, and mentorship.

Khaled Hayajneh

Dr. Khaled Hayajneh is an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at AUM. He earned his Ph.D. from Queen’s University, Canada. His research interests include channel coding, signal processing, digital communications, MIMO systems, and next-generation wireless communication systems. He is a member of IEEE and the Jordan Engineers Association.

Khaled Jaradat

Khaled Jaradat is a lab instructor in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait.

He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry from Jordan University of Science and Technology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. Since joining the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in 2019, he has contributed to undergraduate teaching in General Chemistry Lab, Organic Chemistry Lab, and Calculus. His academic interests include synthetic and physical organic chemistry, as well as computational chemistry.

He has research experience in modeling reaction mechanisms using quantum chemistry tools such as ORCA, GAUSSIAN, and CP2K, and committed to integrating cutting-edge theoretical insights into practical teaching, fostering critical thinking and scientific curiosity among students.

Khaled Mohamed

Khaled Mohamed holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Kuwait University and a master's in urban regeneration from La Sapienza University of Rome. His professional experience includes collaborations with leading multidisciplinary firms in Kuwait & Italy with project ranging from an urban design scale to a building scale. His research focuses on the urban fragility of the post-colonial Levant and the processes of architectural reuse of colonial heritage as catalysts of urban regeneration. Khaled’s participated to various design competitions and his work got published at major international exhibitions like the Biennale di Venezia.

Khaled Omari

Dr. Khaled Omari is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. Omari’s research focuses on analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry, with special expertise in therapeutic drug monitoring, mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), and pharmacogenomics. His interdisciplinary work bridges the fields of chemistry, engineering, and biomedical science. In addition to his research, Dr. Omari is passionate about chemical education and actively promotes creative, project-based learning approaches that engage students and foster critical thinking. He is also involved in student mentorship, contributing to the academic and professional growth of future engineers and scientists.

Khaled Younes

Dr. Khaled Younes is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Master’s degree in water treatment from the University of Poitiers (France), a master’s in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University (UK), and a master’s in engineering management from the University of Leeds (UK). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Geology from the University of Poitiers, followed by the prestigious Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in Water, Soil, and Environment from the University of Limoges (France). He is a Chartered Manager, accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK.

Dr. Younes’s research spans three interdisciplinary areas: molecular and statistical analysis in geological and geochemical systems; advanced analytical techniques addressing health, pollution, and environmental monitoring; and the integration of AI and machine learning in energy systems and environmental engineering. He actively mentors students, supervises doctoral research, and contributes to international collaborations and peer-reviewed publications. His work promotes sustainable innovation that bridges fundamental science with practical solutions.

Koba Lomidze

Dr. Koba Lomidze is an assistant professor in the Liberal Arts Department at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Akaki Tsereteli State University (Georgia), a Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University (USA), and a Ph.D. from Georgian Technical University (Georgia). With over 20 years of academic experience, he has taught various writing courses and served on curriculum and learning outcomes committees. His research interests include applied linguistics and modern communication, and he has published in both areas. He is dedicated to enhancing students' professional communication skills.

Konca Saher

Konca Saher is an architect, academic and acoustic consultant with extensive international experience in building and room acoustics. She is currently an associate professor in the Architectural Engineering Department at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She completed her PhD at Delft University of Technology in Building Technology, where her research focused on the acoustic quality of spaces for people with intellectual disabilities. Over her career she has worked on a wide range of high-profile projects including airports, railway stations, hotels, cultural venues, offices and residential developments across Europe and the Middle East. She served as the acoustic lead for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Temporary Venues, bringing expertise in room acoustics, building acoustics, noise control and sustainable material use. Her academic work has been published in leading journals and presented at major international conferences. With a strong focus on inclusive listening environments, she continues to bridge research and practice in the field of acoustics.
