Dr. Hassan Nasseredine is an assistant professor of accounting at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a PhD in Accounting from The Bucharest University of Economic Studies in Romania, a Master's in Finance, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon. With over a decade of academic experience across Lebanon and Kuwait, Dr. Nasseredine specializes in financial accounting, auditing, and managerial accounting. His research interests include corporate social responsibility reporting, management accounting practices, dividend policies, artificial intelligence in accounting, and sustainability. He has published in several Scopus-indexed journals, including Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Cogent Social Sciences. Beyond teaching, he contributes to curriculum development and academic committees and actively supports student engagement. Dr. Nasseredine’s commitment to academic excellence and applied research continues to shape future professionals in the field of accounting and finance.

Hatem Al-Rawashdeh

Dr. Hatem Al-Rawashdeh is an assistant professor of civil engineering at the College of Engineering & Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A.Sc. in Building Engineering (Wind Engineering) from Concordia University in Canada, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan. Prior to joining AUM, he served as a Research Associate at Concordia University, where he led projects related to wind engineering and building aerodynamics.

His areas of specialization include wind effects on civil infrastructure, particularly buildings and solar PV structures, structural resilience and sustainable urban development. He is committed to addressing the challenges of climate change through innovative design and contributes actively to the advancement of building codes and standards. His expertise also covers renewable energy applications for urban sustainability.

He has authored (co-authored) more than 35 publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He has received multiple awards and research funding for his contributions to research and teaching, including the Concordia University Science Captured Award, Excellence in Teaching Award and Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence. He is also an active member of professional organizations and technical committees, including ASCE, IAWE TG2 and ISO/TC98/SC3/WG 2.

Hedi Mhalla

Dr. Hedi Mhalla is an associate professor in the Department of Statistics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Operations Research) from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and an M.S. in Statistics and Stochastic Models for Economics and Finance from Université Paris 7 Diderot, along with a B.S. in Mathematics.

With over 20 years of experience across academic and non-academic sectors, he has contributed to various interdisciplinary research and academic projects. Dr. Hedi has participated in several curriculum and institutional accreditation processes and quality assurance initiatives. His research emphasizes developing innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues and industry partners.

Hicham Alhajj Chehade

Dr. Hicham Alhajj Chehade is an assistant professor of civil engineering at the College of Engineering & Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Grenoble Alpes University and a master’s in geotechnical engineering from CentraleSupélec in Paris.

Before entering academia, he worked for three years as a geotechnical engineer with Fondasol and Artelia in France. His teaching and research focus on foundation and retaining wall design, site investigation, and soil behavior. At AUM, he is committed to connecting theory with practice through applied geotechnical engineering.

Hossam Omar

Dr. Hossam Omar is an assistant professor in the Computer Engineering Department at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He is a senior member of the IEEE and serves on the IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society’s Standards Activities Subdivision (SASD), contributing to the IEEE 1855 standards project. With expertise in VHDL, FPGA, and ASIC technologies dating back to 2007, his research focuses on AI hardware accelerators, edge computing, wireless sensor networks (WSN), and cybersecurity. He also specializes in advanced control systems, digital signal processing, image processing, sensor fusion, sustainable/approximate computing, and systolic architecture design. Dr. Omar has presented his research at prominent IEEE conferences (ICNS, NEWCAS, AHS 2018) and authored peer-reviewed publications. His work has received multiple awards for excellence from Intel and Terasic, plus endorsements from companies like Parallax and Benewake. He actively peer reviews for leading journals, including numerous IEEE Transactions and Elsevier publications, and for major conferences such as IEEE ISCAS and AIM. He is known for his dedication, self-motivation, and collaborative spirit.

Houshang Habibniya

Dr. Houshang Habibniya is a professor of accounting at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a PhD in Commerce from Gujarat University, India, and has over 30 years of experience in higher education, research, and financial consulting. His scholarly expertise encompasses financial accounting, cost accounting, audit quality, corporate governance, and ESG reporting.

Throughout his academic tenure, Dr. Habibniya has served in leadership roles such as chair of the Accounting Department and has contributed to AACSB accreditation, curriculum development, and strategic planning committees. His professional background includes senior financial and consulting roles in Canada and the Gulf region, with companies such as Global Investment House, Direct Energy, and Kraft Canada. He has published extensively in Scopus and ABDC-indexed journals and serves on editorial boards of international journals. He is a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Hunseok Kang

Dr. Hunseok Kang is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He is a dedicated educator and researcher with a strong international background in mathematics and interdisciplinary sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University and has taught in the U.S., Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. His areas of specialization include mathematical modeling, applied analysis, and data-driven methods in neuroscience. Dr. Kang’s recent research focuses on analyzing nonstationary data, including EEG signals and weather patterns, using techniques such as Dynamic Mode Decomposition. In addition to his research, he has extensive experience integrating computational tools and visualization technologies into teaching, helping students from diverse backgrounds grasp complex concepts. Dr. Kang is also actively involved in public advisory roles and interdisciplinary initiatives that promote education, peace, and science-based policymaking.

Huseyin Arslan

Dr. Huseyin Arslan serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Liberal Arts at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, specializing in Ottoman and Safavid history.

He earned his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from Indiana University Bloomington, USA, and has undertaken research and academic collaborations at Turkish, Iranian, German, and American institutions, engaging with diverse scholarly traditions and archival collections.

He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Turkish and Kuwaiti universities, including research methodology, economic history, world history, and political economy. His research focuses on Ottoman, Safavid, and Timurid historiography, examining the intersections of power, religion, and elite culture in early modern Western Asia. His work has appeared in internationally recognized journals and edited volumes.

He actively contributes to academic scholarship and intercultural dialogue through his research, teaching, and participation in scholarly networks devoted to Middle Eastern and Islamic history.

Hussam Al Othman

Dr. Hussam AlOthman is an assistant professor of industrial engineering at the Industrial Engineering Department in the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and earlier degrees (Master’s degrees and Bachelor’s degree) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, USA, and the Jordan University of Science and Technology, respectively. His expertise includes statistical quality control, lean Six Sigma methodology, safety engineering, and process improvement.

His research focuses on statistical quality control including univariate and multivariate quality control charts, the application of lean six sigma methodology for the improvement and sustainability of healthcare operations and occupational safety and health, and the internet of things . He received the Lean Six Sigma Teaching Award at the IEOM GCC Conference (Oman, 2024) and holds Lean Six Sigma certification.

Hussein Sabbah
