Denise Soares

Dr. Denise Soares is an associate professor within the Liberal Arts Department, at the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait, specializing in sports science and healthy lifestyles. Her research focuses on sports medicine, physical activity benefits, and human movement. She holds a Ph.D. in Sports Science from the Faculty of Sports at the University of Porto (Portugal), a Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences, and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).

She previously served as the dean of the Master's Degree in Sports Health and coordinated Kinesiolab, a laboratory dedicated to human movement analysis. Dr. Soares has published more than 40 papers—17 under AUM affiliation—and has received several awards and honors in the fields of health and sports sciences. Her work focuses on bridging scientific research with practical applications to improve physical activity levels, injury prevention, and rehabilitation outcomes.

Dimitar Shabanliyski

Dr. Dimitar Shabanliyski serves as an assistant professor in the Liberal Arts Department at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Sports Education, specializing in Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports Training, from the National Sports Academy (NSA) “Vassil Levski” in Sofia. Prior to this, Dr. Shabanliyski earned a master’s degree in physical education from NSA “Vassil Levski” and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia. A former professional athlete, Dr. Shabanliyski was a Bulgarian Volleyball Champion with “Levski” Sofia and a two-time National Cup winner. Additionally, He competed in the group stages of the “Indesit” Champions Volleyball League. Currently, he focuses his research efforts on sports selection and biomechanics, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in these fields. With a blend of athletic experience and academic expertise, Dr. Shabanliyski is committed to fostering excellence in both sports practice and education.

Dimitrios Trachilis

Dr. Dimitrios Trachilis is an associate professor of mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Cosmology from the University of the Aegean, Greece (2016), and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Athens. He previously worked at the University of the Aegean and participated in its research group on geometry, dynamical systems, and cosmology. His research focuses on modified gravity, cosmology, and asymptotic solutions, with publications in The European Physical Journal C, Astronomy (MDPI), and International Journal of Modern Physics A. He is a member of AMS and Hellenic Mathematical Society and has served as Head of AUM’s Mathematics Accreditation Committee.

Dina Fahl

Dina Fahl is a PhD Candidate in Accounting at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, and currently serves as a senior instructor at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She earned her BSc in Accounting from the University of Damascus, Syria, in 2005, and completed her MBA at AUM in 2011. Her research focuses on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and financial performance, with particular interest in how governance structures, board practices, and ethical standards impact earnings quality, transparency, and firm value. Dina is passionate about contributing to the field through evidence-based research that supports sustainable business practices and responsible corporate reporting.

Dina Said

Dr. Dina Said is an associate professor at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She holds a PhD and MA in Business Administration and a BA (Hons) in Commerce from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Her academic and professional background includes roles at the World Health Organization and an arbitration law firm. At AUM, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in organizational behavior, leadership, and career planning. Her research includes talent management, Organizational learning, service quality, and employee creativity.

Doried Ghader

Dr. Doried Ghader is an associate professor of physics and head of the Physics Department at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, with research focusing on quantum phenomena in magnetic materials. He serves on the editorial board of Scientific Reports and contributes to advancing theoretical physics through his scholarly publications.

Dragutin Nedeljkovic

Dr. Dragutin Nedeljkovic is an associate professor of chemical engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Engineering from Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany, and MSc and BSc degrees in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

He joined AUM in 2016 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2022. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade and was a Fellow Researcher at Hereon Research Center (formerly Helmholtz Research Center) in Germany. His research focuses on composite materials, polymers, and sustainable engineering practices.

Dubravka Gavric

Dubravka Gavric is a senior teaching assistant at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East, Kuwait. She holds an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cyprus, where her research focused on numerical schemes for approximating solutions of the heat equation with applications to options pricing, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics Applied in Finance from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. With extensive teaching experience across universities and institutes in Kuwait, she has contributed to undergraduate mathematics education through instruction, review sessions, and curriculum support in calculus and applied mathematics. Her research interests lie in applied mathematics, computational modeling, and the study of complex systems, with recent work focusing on fuzzy modeling approaches to social networks and the dynamics of misinformation. She has co-authored publications presented at international conferences, including contributions to the Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Her academic contributions highlight the integration of mathematical theory with real-world applications, particularly in decision support, control, and the analysis of information systems.

Duygu Soyoglu

Dr. Duygu Soyoglu is an assistant professor in the department of Mathematics at the College of Engineering and Technology, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait. She has completed her undergraduate studies at İzmir University of Economics, obtained her master’s degree from Yaşar University, and earned her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from İzmir University of Economics. Her areas of specialization include ordinary and partial differential equations—both linear and nonlinear—their integrability, and applications in mathematical physics. She is particularly interested in the theory of differential equations, time scales, and classification techniques in machine learning. Her research also extends to artificial intelligence and data-driven modeling. Duygu was awarded the TUBITAK BIDEB 2211 Domestic Ph.D. Scholarship (2012–2017). She served as a member of the Local Organizing Committee for WDEA 2013 and WDEA 2015. She has delivered invited talks at several academic events, including İzmir Mathematics Days (IMG 2018), the 8th International Workshop on Differential Equations and Applications (WDEA 2017), and the 8th International Conference for Women in Data Science (2025). Duygu is committed to interdisciplinary research bridging mathematics and intelligent systems.

Ebru Kahveci

Dr. Ebru Kahveci is a professor of mathematics at the College of Business Administration, American University of the Middle East (AUM), Kuwait, with over 20 years of academic experience. She earned her B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science with High Honours from Eastern Mediterranean University, followed by her M.Sc. at the same institution and later earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Kocaeli University, Turkey.

Dr. Kahveci began her academic career at Izmir University of Economics, where she served for ten years and earned her Associate Professorship in 2013. Since 2016, she has been affiliated with AUM, holding various roles including Department Chair and Full Professor. Her areas of specialization include partial differential equations, numerical methods, inverse problems, and neutrosophic logic. Renowned for her passionate, student-centered teaching, Dr. Kahveci employs interactive strategies and real-life applications to cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Her dynamic classroom approach reflects a deep commitment to nurturing capable, thoughtful learners and future leaders in the mathematical sciences.
